Adopting the correct approach to cleaning your real wood floor is vital to preserving your investment and keeping it looking its best for years to come.
Dust Removal:
Before mopping or cleaning, always vacuum the floor or sweep thoroughly with a soft-bristle brush to lift fine dust particles. Loose grit and dust act as abrasives under foot traffic and can dull or scratch the surface finish over time.
Mopping Technique:
We recommend using a slightly damp microfibre mop combined with a diffuser spray bottle to apply a gentle fine mist directly to the mop or floor. Never submerge your mop in a bucket of water or pour water directly onto the floor, as oversoaking can cause irreversible moisture damage.
Detergent Warning: Always use a dedicated wood floor cleaner formulated specifically for your flooring's finish (UV Lacquered, Hardwax Oiled, or Natural Oiled). Never use standard household detergents or multi-purpose surface cleaners, as these often contain harsh bleaches and abrasives that strip protective coatings and dull the timber veneer.
